I recently had a discussion with a NetSuite Team lead about how to improve his team's processes.
I mentioned something that seemed to resonate:
> What gets measured gets improved.
He's now giving thought to what KPIs he wants to implement for his team.
How do you come up with the KPIs that are important for your team?
Ask: 1) what is my goal, and 2) how can I measure it.
Want a stable system? Count new incidents.
Want a resilient support team that doesn't break when someone is out?
What % of the service requests you receive correspond to a documented SOP?
The higher the percentage, the stronger your team.
Want to lead successful projects?
Identify your projects; identify the goals and desired outcomes; and analyze the success based on goals.
Keep tabs on this for every project (small and large), and do some root cause analysis (RCA) when your projects aren't meeting your standards.
